Effects of Geometric Parameters on Stamping Formability of Tailor Rolled Blank
Tailor rolled blank (TRB) plays an important role in weight lighting of automobilesand has been widely applied in automobile industry. The stamping processes of TRBwere numerical simulated by using the finite element method software ABAQUS in this paper. The effects of different factors such asthe length or location of thickness transition zone (TTZ),the thickness ratio on stamping formability of TRBwerediscussed, based on the following aspects: maximum thinning rate and movement amounts of TTZ.The results were proposed that the stamping formability of TRB is closely related to its geometric parameters. The stamping formability of TRB improves with the increase of TTZ length, the distance between TTZ and thicker side. Also it improves with the decrease of thickness ratio. This research can provide a guidance for the design of TRB with reasonable geometric parameters and improve the stamping formability of TRB.
