Coating Weight and Thickness of an Ultra Low Carbon Deep Drawing Steel Controlled by Zinc Bath Chemistry and Dew Point

  The zinc based coating weight and thickness under different dew point and zinc bath chemistries were studied in laboratory by HDPS (hot dipping process simulator).The results show that,the cold rolling thin slab has a good wetting property under the conditions of dew points from -60 to 30℃and Al contents from 0.15% to 0.29% solved in zinc bath; the dew point has little effect on coating weight and thickness; aluminium content solved in zinc bath has a significant effect on coating weight and thickness,the coating weight gap between two zinc bath chemistries was as large as 20 g/m2 when dew points were -30℃ and -10℃.
