Medium Manganese Steel: a Challenge to Both Steel Mill and Auto Maker
Medium manganese steel (containing 3%~10%Mn) with the M3 microstructure presents higher ductility than conventional BCC matrix steels at high strength level (RmA≥30GPa·%),and is considered to be one of the potentials for the third generation AHSS.It has now been widely studied by the people in the academy and also produced in industrial scale trials.Now,there are at least two steel flat products and one stamping component concerning with medium manganese steel:hot rolled coils,cold rolled coils and warm stamping components.Except surveys to the chemistry and processing to get more creations of medium manganese steel,there are still some key problems related to steel processing and component fabrication.
