Microstructural Evolution and Mechanical Properties of Friction Stir Welded Carbon Steel under Low Heat Input
Advanced high strength steels (AHS),such as dual phase (DP) steel, transformation induced plasticity (TRIP)steel, and quenching and partitioning (Q&P) steel, have received more and more attention due to the largedemand in automotive industry1.However,traditional fusion welding of steel suffers from grain growth, segregation of alloying elements, solidification cracking, porosity, hydrogen embrittlement, and developmentof dendritic structure, which severely restrict the wide application of AHS2,3.
