Fire Modelling Using Fire FOAM
This presentation will describe the research efforts of my group in the development and application of FireFOAM, a Large Eddy Simulation (LES) based fire simulation solver within the OpenFOAM(R) toolbox.It will start with an overview of some completed development in my group including the extension of the eddy dissipation concept (EDC) for multi-component fuels 1-3, a soot formation and oxidation model based on the laminar smoke point and partially stirred reactor (PaSR) concept 4, the implementation and testing of various weighted sum of grey gas model for gases radiation properties 5.Some validation studies also be included.Following this, the presentation will focus on two recent studies.
