Study on Fire Safety Characteristics in Extra-long Railway Tunnel Rescue Station

  The paper was trying to describe the fire characteristics of emergent rescue station when a train caught fire in extra-long railway rescue station, and analyze the effect on fire rescue and evacuation from the perspective of quantitative.By means of fire dynamics simulation software FDS, a train fire occurring in the Qingyun mountain tunnel was taken as an example to simulate the fire parameters under multiple fire scenarios and train types.When we simulated the train fire in this paper, the typical model of passenger train was 25T, of which the body size was 26.6 m ×3.104 m × 3.104 m.When the passenger train caught fire, the heat release rate can reach the rated value of 20MW after 326 seconds.For the freight train, C70 general-purpose open-top was selected to be the typical train model, and the size of the train body was 13.976m×3.242m×3.143m.Through the value estimation, we arrived that the heat release rate can reach the rated value of 100MW after 730 s.Furthermore, the grid size formed for simulation of fire in passenger train ranged from 0.2m to 1.0m, and the grid size of freight train ranged from 0.4m to 1.5m, which could be selected to grid enrichment locally.The speed of passenger train and freight train were 160 km/h and 100 km/h respectively, the deceleration for average acceleration were 0.71m/s2 and 0.39rn/s2, while the braking distance were 1400m and 1000m.
