Study on Flame Retardant and Explosion Suppression Performances between Metal and Non-metallic Reticular Materials

  In the horizontal shock tube with an inner diameter of 70mm and length of 4m, the combustion and explosion overpressure and flame propagation speed of C3H8-air mixture were tested when the shock tube was filled with Al-Mg alloy reticular materials and polyurethane foam reticular materials.Compared with the blank, the combustion and explosion overpressure of two materials decrease 83.3% and 87.3%;and flame propagation speed is decreased.The results indicated that the two kinds of materials showed excellently flame retardant and explosion suppression performances to the C3H8-air mixture.
