Influence of Charging and Discharging of the Lithium-ion Battery 18650 Thermal Runaway
The effect of charging-lischarging on the thermal runaway of an 18650 lithium-ion battery was studied using a lithium-ion battery temperature testing system.The simultaneous effect of heating power and charging-discharging on the 18650 lithium-ion battery was also investigated.The results are displayed in the following papers.(1) The average increase rate of the battery temperature increases with an increasing charging current when the battery is charging.Thermal runaway does not appear when the charging current is less than 9.8 A.The maximum temperature of the battery increases with an increasing charging current.Thermal runaway appears when the charging current is greater than 10.4 A.The thermal runaway temperature is approximately 110 ℃ at a 20 ℃ ambient temperature, and the possibility of the thermal runaway increases when the charging current increases.
