A New Approach for Selecting the Best Development Face Ventilation Method Based on G1-coefficient of Variation

  Development face ventilation is an integral part of the mine ventilation system, which has a major influence on the mine production system.The quality of development face ventilation directly affects the working environment of underground workers.With several criteria considered in the process of selecting an optimum face ventilation method, Multi-Attribute Decision Making (MADM) tool is recommended to be used for this process.The current popular methods for decision making and project optimisation in mine ventilation contain a number of deficiencies as they are solely based on either subjective knowledge or objective information.This paper presents a new approach to rank the alternatives based on Gl-coefficient of variation.The focus of this approach is the use of the dynamic combination weighing, which is able to compensate for the deficiencies in the evaluation index single weighing method.The appropriate index system was established for determining the evaluation value of each ventilation method.Finally, the proposed approach was used to select the best development face ventilation method.The result shows that the dynamic combination weighing method has the advantages of both subjective and objective weighing methods, it takes into consideration of both the experience and wisdom of experts, and the new changes in objective conditions.This approach provides a more convenient and direct procedure to analyse and evaluate different ventilation methods.
