Research and Application on Prolonging the Service Life of Tundish Working Lining
The service life of continuous casting tundish working lining in No.2 Angang steelmaking plant reached 13.5 hours with the recipe of basic dry vibe.In order to reduce the refractory consumption of steel per ton, the method to prolong the service life of tundish working lining was researched together with the steelmaking plant.The conclusion was drawn that the casting area was crucial in prolonging its service life by making an analysis of erosion areas of tundish working lining.Therefore, the recipes of dry vibe applied in the area of casting, well block and bottom were developed, which were installed on each area respectively and eroded evenly in the application.In the meanwhile, the steelmaking plant adjusted the continuous casting process to add the deslagging operation in the process of steel casting.According to the above-mentioned technical proposal the service life of working lining has reached from 13.5 hours to 16 hours or more and the maximum has reached 18.26 hours.Moreover, the time of casting has been extended,the number of tundish has been reduced, steel yield rate has been improved and refractory consumption of steel per ton has been decreased accordingly.
