Damage Analysis on Common Position of CDQ and Development Trends of Linning Refractories

  In this work, the degradation mechanisms of refractories applied in dry coke quenching (CDQ) were investigated and the corresponding improving measures were proposed.The thermal shock resistance of Si3N4-SiC bricks and alumina-silica refractories applied in ramp area were evaluated by according to a water bath method at 1300 ℃.The results indicated cracks can be observed and destructive fracture appeared in Si3N4-SiC bricks after 7 quenching cycles.Meanwhile, alumina-silica refractories only suffered 4-6 quenching cycles.The analysis results of Si3N4-SiC brick after used indicated that the main bonded phase was SiN2O2 and part of that was SiO2.The mullite/silicon carbon bricks with a special binder were synthesized and used as a substitution for BM brick used for cooling chamber.In addition, the time period of overhaul, medium, minor repair and service longevity for CDQ were investigated in detail.
