Vical(R)71: A New Developed 70% Calcium Aluminate Cement Containing Higher Content of Reactive Hydration Phase
Vica1(R)71 is a new developed 70% Calcium Aluminate Cement containing higher content of reactive hydration phase.Comparing with traditional CAC, Vical(R)71 has rapid strength development and higher green strength at room temperature and higher drying strength.At the same time, it can still keep the reasonable working ability.With higher hydration phase and without any additive, Vical(R)71 could give more flexibility and possibility to the refractory castable producer on balancing the cement dosage in the formulations and thermal performance of the final product.Thanks to the strict in-site mineralogy control and special sintering process, Vical(R)71 also has excellent quality consistence.In this paper, we investigate the chemical composition and mechanical properties of Vical(R)71 and compare with other 70% CAC, and also show the application test results of Vical(R)71 used in the ULCC formulation for iron trough.
