Study for Microwave Curing of Castable Refractories
Microwave drying of castable refractories is used in actual for shortening the drying time without explosion [1],[2].On the other hand there are few reports about microwave curing.Generally, curing time of castable refractories takes a day.Curing time is the second longest next to the drying time.Also,temperature change affects the hardening time.So, the hardening time adjustment is needed.Applying microwave curing, castable refractories can be hardened in a short time under fixed temperature condition without complicated the adjustment of hardening time by additives because the castable refractory is internally heated And also, productivity improvement is expected.In this study, short time curing is conducted by microwave heating for low cement castable refractories whose strength development is slow and physical properties are compared with conventional cured samples.
