The Application of Chrome-free Brick in Burning Zone of Cement Rotary Kiln

  In cement rotary kiln, burning zone is the most severe area.Magnesia chrome brick with good coating adhesion and strong anti-erosion property is well used in the area.However, trivalent chromium contained in magnesia chrome brick reacts with alkali under humid circumstance to become hexavalent chromium which is toxic on human, In recent years,magnesia chrome brick has been replaced by brick without chrome gradually.Magnesia alumina zirconia brick is a kind of chrome-free brick developed by our company for burning zone of cement rotary kiln.The ZrO2-bearing matrix of brick has strong binding force with cement clinker so that cement materials are easily to adhere on the surface of brick to protect brick from the damage by high temperature and low-melting point component.Furthermore, ZrO2 addition improves not only thermal shock resistance,but also the anti-erosion ability of chrome-free brick by forming ZrO2-rich phase around crystals.Secondary spinel phase rich matrix enables brick to have excellent strength under high temperature so that the spalling and penetration are minished.Its working life is similar to magnesia chrome brick in burning zone of cement rotary kiln with diameter more than 4 m.
