Transmission characters of selective-filled photonic liquid crystal fibers
The transmission characters of selective-filled photonic liquid crystal fibers (PLCFs) with different filled structures are experimentally studied.To investigate the transmission character,one,two or innermost layer of the air holes near the solid-core on one end of the photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) are selectively filled with liquid crystal (LC).For the LC filled-hole end connecting to light source,with the LC filled-hole gradually increasing,the transmission spectra can be observed obvious bandgaps.For the air-filled end,since the combined action of two kinds of light transmission mechanism,the transmission spectra are different from the LC filled-hole end owned the same filled structures.Moreover,when the temperature was increased from 20℃ to 60℃,the PLCF of selective-filled innermost layer showed a good stability.
