Flow past main cylinder with two symmetrical control rods

  The laminar flow past a primary cylinder with two control rods is simulated in this paper through solving the Navier-Stokes equations based on OpenFOAM.The Reynolds number (Re) based on the diameter of the large cylinder is 500,and the diameter ratio of the control rod to the large cylinder is 0.25.The space between the centers of the control rod and the large cylinder varies from 0.01D to 2D (D is the diameter of the large cylinder).The angle of the control rod varies from 15° to 165° (the angle is 0° as the control rod is downstream and tandem with the primary cylinder), and the interval is 10°.The flow structures are analyzed and classified according to different spaces and angles, and the relationship between flow pattern and force coefficient is discussed.
