An experimental study of the influence of gate releasing time to the dam-break hydrodynamics

摘要：

　　On the basis of the precise synchronization of different measuring instruments, two sets of experiments considering both the dry and wet bed conditions of the downstream side were performed to study the influence of the gate releasing time on the dam break hydrodynamics in a rectangular and horizontal flume.The difference of water level and flow velocity at two downstream locations and the water surface elevation at different time among sudden, moderate and slow gate removal scenarios was examined in this study.
