Study of the interaction between landslides and rigid barriers with SPH method
The estimation of impact force of landslide on protective barriers is key to the design of these infrastructure.In this paper, the interaction between dry granular materials and rigid barriers is investigated by a SPH model.The model is able to reproduce the flows and predict impact force correctly under various conditions.Additionally, the detailed interaction process is investigated by this model and the normal impact force is found to be contributed by two sources: the earth pressure caused by a static zone and the dynamic pressure caused by the soil flowing on top the static zone.
