Effect of drag models on CFD simulation of biomass gasification in a fluidized bed gasifier
In the present paper, effect of three commonly used drag models on biomass gasification behavior in a fluidized bed gasifier has been numerically investigated by an Eulerian-Lagrangian CFD model. The simulation results are analyzed quantitatively by three indicators: pressure drop across the bed, volume fractions of produced gas species, and carbon conversion at the gasifier exit. Results show that the three drag models studied obtain consistent results, although small quantitative differences can still be observed. Moreover, the calculated results are also compared with the experimental data reported in the literature.
