Numerical study on hydroelastic responses of very large floating structures in variable seabed bathymetry

In this paper, numerical simulations and experimental studies have been carried out on the motion responses and connector loads of VLFS in variable seabed bathymetry. The RMFC model is adopted with the seabed treated as a second fixed body in diffraction theory in the numerical simulations and the results are compared with the experiments. The theory and results presented in the paper provide a technical foundation for the load determination and structure design of VLFS (including connectors) in variable seabed bathymetry.
