The lines optimization of 75 m platform supply vessel
Nowadays upcoming emission regulations are becoming a growing concern for the shipping industry worldwide.In order to grasp the rule of lines optimization of OSV, a 75 m Platform Supply Vessel is chosen as the target ship and the detailed optimization study and numerical simulation have been carried out.As the flow around the aft-body is dominantly viscous, RANS computation is completed to analyze the hydrodynamic performance.The optimization areas mainly includes the aft-body, the skeg,different stem form, etc.The CFD results show that the resistance of the optimized lines is about 13% lower than the original lines.
