Study on onset of scour around underwater pipes with material point method

摘要：

　　A dual-point MPM model has been applied to study the piping process which causes the onset of scour around offshore pipelines.The concept of the double point formulation is first described, and then the effects of different computational parameters on the piping simulations are evaluated.It is shown that the proposed model is a promising technicque for modelling the piping phenomena, but care should be taken in selecting the computational parameters.
