Numerical investigation on wave attenuation through rigid plants
A 3-D mathematical model was conducted to investigate the wave attenuation performance of rigid plants using the software FLOW-3D.The standard RNG k-ε model was used in turbulence closure models. The Volume of Fluid method was adopted to track the free wave surface. The Finite Difference Method was employed to solve the controlling equations. The mathematical model was validated well with related experimental data.It was found that wave transmission coefficient decreased with increasing relative height of plants and wave height respectively. However, the wave energy dissipation ratio appeared an opposite trend.
