Experimental study on the resistance of the overland flowon the slope reinforced by three dimensional Geomat under rainfallcondition
This paper focus on the study of hydrodynamic characteristics of overland flow on a slope.The study of resistance of overland flow helps to understand erosion of slope reinforced under different rainfall.In the experiments, simulated rainfall with different intensities (i.e.60 mm/h, 90 mm/h and 120 mm/h) were used to study the erosion characteristics under various slope gradients (i.e.12°, 18°, 24°, 30°and 38°).During the experiments, the velocity, water depth and unit width discharge of overland flow were recorded, and the relationships between overland flow resistance and slope length, rainfall intensity and slope gradient were analyzed.Test results show that the Darcy-weisbach resistance coefficient decreases in power form with the increasing of slope;the resistance coefficient decreases with the increases of the rainfall intensity and increases with increasing of slope gradient.The resistance of overland flow has a strong correlation with the flow pattern,and the coefficient has a positive power relationship with the Froude number.
