Modeling Factors Explaining the Continuous Usage of Mobile Search
Retaining users and facilitating their continuance usage are crucial for mobile search service providers. This study proposes a research model for investigating individuals continued search behavior and the moderating role of habit with regard to the antecedents and continued search behavior, integrating two widely used models in per-adoption behavior, TPB and ECM-IS.The integrated research model is empirically tested using a sample of 377 mobile search users, and the results show that task-technology fit and expectation confirmation are strong predictors of user perception, including perceived usefulness, ease of use and enjoyment, all of which in turn directly affect user satisfaction with mobile search.Besides, satisfaction, together with subjective norm and perceived behavioral control have an effect on the continuous usage of mobile search. In addition, user habit of PC search has a small but negative moderating effect on the relationship between satisfaction and continuance usage of mobile search.Discussions and implications for academics and practitioners are also provided.
