Visualizing the Structure and the Evolving of Information Behavior: A Scientometrics Analysis
This paper aims to analyze and visualize the structure and the emerging trend of information behavior.It is now considered one of the most important areas of intelligence science and related disciplines.Our study objectively explores the document co-citation clusters of 5052 bibliographic records oninformation behaviorduring 1986-2015 indexed in the Web of Knowledge to identify the knowledge foundations of information behavior, the hot research specialty of domain and the frontiers of information behavior.CiteSpace was used to visualize the perspective of information behavior domain.The conclusions indicate that (a) two branches of information behavior research are illustrated by two clusters, (b) the classic theories and models of information behavior included in the two clusters shows the knowledge foundation of information behavior clearly, (c) the research hotspots are indicated by 8 high frequency co-occurring keywords, (d) the research frontiers of information heavier are presented bv 8 burst terms.
