养猪与环保兼顾的可持续性准则和改进方法
Introduction:In 2050, according to the latest estimations (United Nations 2015) about 9.7 billion people will need healthy and affordable food with scarcer land and water resources.Historically it is also evident, that higher available income leads to higher consumption of animal based food sources like meat, eggs, milk and fish.Limited resources of arable land, pastures and water must be therefore used more efficiently in order to reduce the ecological footprint by guaranteeing save and affordable food. The future sustainability of the animal based food value chain depends therefore on three dimensions of innovation:Efficiency, ecology and food quality and safety. The focus of this article is on the ecological footprint of swine feed industry and production in general with main emphasis on China.
