Experimental Study of Pedestrians Gaits During Turning
A new experimental method which can record pedestrians footprints was described and a series of controlled experiments were conducted to extract pedestrians turning footprints.Six parameters were proposed to describe the footprints accurately and the relationships among these parameters were discussed.It was found that the differences of footprint tracks of different pedestrians were more distinct than that of the same pedestrian,so we studied these parameters individually.By calculating the correlations of these parameters of the same pedestrian we found that the parameters describing the change of angles were much more stable than others.So we set one of these parameters which described the change of angles as the centre parameter and the relationships between the parameter and others were studied.The results can be used to describe the footprints and be the base of step simulation models.
