Computer Simulations of Pedestrian Flows for Universiade 2019 Sport Facilities Versus Hand Calculations
In the paper case study that deals with investigation of inflow and outflow for some Universiade 2019 sport facility is considered. The objective of the simulation was to identify potential problem areas, propose mitigations and/or operational solutions. The performance indicators for outflow-scenarios were: visitor travel times, possible congestion, duration of visitor immobility due to high densities in pedestrian areas and gate capacity performance. For the inflow-scenarios the performance indicators were: visitor travel times, visitor queuing time at gates, an appropriate queue lengths.A solutions were obtained iteratively by computer simulation of the processes starting with rough hand calculation estimates.
