Dynamic Guide for Urban Rail Transit Station Pedestrian Evacuation Decision

In highly-populated urban rail transit stations, dynamic signage performs better than static one during the evacuation process. This paper focuses on the effect that dynamic guide impacts on pedestrian evacuation decision-making based on the analysis of pedestrian characteristics when facing with emergency.By identifying the congestion degree of exits, the switching mechanism of dynamic signage is specified.A model is established on the basis of pedestrians subjective judgement of evacuation time according to dynamic signage. It is validated by simulation that dynamic signage can effectively reduce the total evacuation time and balance the utilization of exits.
