Experimental observation on creep-ratcheting interaction of Ti-6242S alloy at elevated temperature
The creep, ratcheting and creep-ratcheting interaction behaviors of Ti-6242S alloy were investigated at elevated temperatures. The obvious ratcheting behavior occurred under the stress-controlled cyclic loading conditions. The ratcheting strain increases with an increasing stress amplitude, mean stress and the ambient temperature, and also depends on the loading history. The creep strain can be observed at elevated temperature and exhibits more remarkable at a higher temperature. Moreover, a preliminary creep or ratcheting experiment can hinder subsequent ratcheting or creep deformation, which implies the visco-plastic and creep deformations can be treated as a same delormation mechanism in constitutive modeling at elevated temperature. The obtained conclusions are hclpful to establish a temperature dependent cyclic constitutive model considering the creep-ratcheting interaction at elevated temperature.
