The current paper reports the past, current and future trend of the Vocational Education & Training (VET)Systems in Japan as in the following Section 1 to 3.1.VET systems of Japan -The role of Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) Enactment of the National Law (Human Resources Development Promotion Law, HRDP) and enforcement of VET -The role of local governments under Article 15-5 and 6 of HRDP 2.OJT for VET trainees and Re-education systems for VET instructors -Change of Japanese VET systems after 1985 -Education, training and OJT for VET trainees -Periodical re-education for VET instructors 3.History and current problems of VET in Japan -Change of Japanese economic situation with respect to decrease of manufacturing GDP -Shifting factory to Asia and ASEAN countries, and the trend of VET activity.
