Virtual Machining for Typical Workpieces to Enhance Engineering Training Curriculum

Virtual machining for typical mechanical parts in Vericut software is introduced to Engineering Training curriculum for undergraduates.Typical mechanical parts suitable for the curriculum are carefully selected.Comprehensive machining procedure for these parts is executed in virtual machining environment developed in Vericut, supporting by virtual models of multi kinds of machine tools, suitable cutting tools and fixtures. This high fidelity machining simulation environment can effectively improve students perspectives in broad scope for advanced manufacturing resource, enhanced ability in process planning and deep understanding manufacturing knowledge learned in classroom.
