Exploration on Curriculum Reform of Engineering Training

  After near 15-year construction, Engineering Training (ET) curriculum, an important practice part of engineering learning in university, becomes an essential and characteristic element of higher engineering education in China;more than 1,000 universities set it as a compulsory course to engineering students.In 2013, China became reserve member of the Washington Agreement, which means that Chinas higher engineering education, should follow the Graduate Attributes of Washington Agreement and the demand of substantial equivalence to designing outcome-based learning program for students.Hence, reforming Engineering Training in university to better cater for graduate attributes is raised into the agenda.How to evaluate the engineering practice ability has become the focus of the education and teaching reform of engineering practice.This paper makes analysis on the factors of engineering practice, puts forward the basic concept of evaluation of the ability of engineering practice, establishes the basic elements of evaluation of the ability of engineering practice, establishes an evaluation system of engineering practice ability, in order to guide curriculum system construction, then discusses and analyzes of the important role of the evaluation system of the engineering practice ability in the course.
