The Connotation and Functions of Excellent Engineer Program in University Talent Cultivation
The Ministry of Education started the implementation of the Programs for the Education and Training of Excellent Engineer (Excellent Engineer Program, EEP) since 2011, which is the most important reform program of higher engineering education in recent years.This paper will analyze the measures for the implementation, operating experience and the main problems in the current of Sichuan University (SCU) from the aspects of student selection, the curriculum system, training base construction of schools and enterprises, the management and operation mechanism, the full-time and part-time teacher training, the students learning effect evaluation and enterprise feedback.Then the paper introduces the exploration and practice of engineering training center of SCU in the process of implementation of Excellent Engineer Programs, and finally puts forward the authors viewpoint of how all levels of experimental teaching demonstration centers play an important part in Excellent Engineer Programs.
