The Design of Heat Treatment Comprehensive Experiment Based on the Ideals of Outcome-based Education
Based on the engineering practice this project designs the metal heat treatment comprehensive experiment around saw blade, a typical part of cotton gin.Firstly, let students visit Handan cotton machine co.LTD through cognition practice to learn about the working principle of cotton gin, the flocculant seed separation technology, the operational requirement of saw blade and the problems existing.Secondly, several kinds of typical saw blades heat treatment are chosen to observe their microstructure and test their properties.Accordingly, the students analyze and discuss the raw materials and heat treatments which result in the corresponding microstructures and properties.Finally, the students design and operate the heat treatment experiments, test the properties of saw blades after heat treated, and compare with national standard to find the differences.This project is oriented by outcome, centers around engineering project case, and combines the teaching experiment with engineering practice and science research, which trains students to improve their abilities of thinking, practicing and innovating, and makes them master the knowledge learned.
