A Comparison of Efficiency between Concentrated Exploration and Dispersed Exploration: An Agent-based Computer Simulation Experiment
At present, there are generally two ways of scientific research around the world: one is that the government gathers social resources through revenue and gives them to a small number of people to make scientific research; the other is conducted by the market spontaneously and dispersedly.Arguments about the efficiency of the two ways still prevail. This paper attempts to compare the efficiency between concentrated exploration and dispersed exploration by agent-based computer simulation method. The result of this experiment, which has a certain reference value to formulate scientific development strategy, shows that the efficiency of dispersed exploration is much higher than concentrated exploration.
