Measurement of Economic Contribution Rate from Transportation Industry to Beijing by Input-output Model
Because of the connection between industries, the driven effect from transportation industry on national economy comes from two aspects, one is the direct economic effect generated from transportation industry development, the other is the indirect economic effect from the development of connected industries because of transportation industry. This paper uses the input-output method to show the connection between the transportation industry and other industries, and using contribution ratio of growth value, evaluates the pulling and pushing effect of transportation on the national economy of Beijing. The conclusion is that economic effect of any industry depends not only on the size of its direct economic effect, but also on its indirect economic effect. The size of Economic effect depends on its position in the industrial chain, the connection degree with other pillar industries and the distance from pillar industry to other industries. If the industrial position is in front, the pulling effect is smaller than its pushing effect, if it is in behind, the pushing effect is greater than its pulling effect. As a basic industry, transports forward pushing effect is larger than its backward pulling effect.
