Reliability Estimation using General Ranked Set Sample under Cost model
This paper gives the nonparametric estimators of systematic reliability based on general ranked set sampling, and their statistical properties are investigated.For fixed operational costs, the relative efficiencies of the proposed estimators with respect to the corresponding estimator under simple ranked sampling are derived, and they are applied to estimate reliability of bone mineral density in a human population.Results of relative efficiencies show that the proposed sampling scheme is more cost-effective when the cost of sampling and ranking is not ignorable.
