Superficial residual stresses in face-milling the 17-4PH stainless steel at various feed rates
17-4PH stainless steel is a kind of typical martensitic precipitation hardening stainless steel with a high percentage content of Ni and Cr elements. Its high strength and thermochemistry stability made it a typical difficult-to-cut material and widely used in the fields with a high temperature and a high pressure, such as aeronautics industry.Residual stresses play an important role in determining the dimensional stability and machining accuracy of a component.
