Experimental Study on the Formation Mechanism of Serrated Chip of TC11Titanium Alloy
TC11 (Ti-6Al-3.5Mo-l.8Zr-0.23Si) titanium alloy with its high specific strength, good temperature resistance, and excellent corrosion resistance has been widely used in aircraft structural components, aero-engine compressor discs and blades.However its high strength, high hardness,poor thermal conductivity and active chemical properties have made it a typical difficulty-to-cut material.Previous research results show that serrated chips were widely present in high-speed machining of various materials especially in machining of difficulty-to-cut material
