Mumford Compactification of Siegel Variety from the Viewpoint of K(a)hler-Einstein Metric
This article is a survey on recent progress of the authors joint program with Professor S.-T.Yau.We study Mumford smooth toroidal compactifications of smooth Siegel varieties thoroughly from the viewpoint of K(a)hler-Einstein metric.We obtain a global volume form formula for an arbitrary Siegel variety.Ag,г(g > 1) with smooth toroidal compactification-Ag,г having normal crossing boundary divisor D∞ :=Ag,г Ag,r, we use this volume form formula to show that the logarithmical canonical bundle degenerate sharply even though it is big and numerically effective.
