CHARACTERISTICS OF GUIDED WAVES IN A BAR WITH RECTANGULAR CROSS-SECTION
The guided wave propagation in rectangular bars is investigated in this paper.A double orthogonal polynomial series approach is presented to solve the coupled wave equation.Through numerical comparisons with the available results,the validity of the presented approach is illustrated.The dispersion curves and displacement profiles of various rectangular bars are calculated,and the effects of the different width to thickness ratios and the anisotropy on the dispersion curves are illustrated.
