SCATTERING BY SHALLOW CYLINDRICAL CAVITY IN AN INHOMOGENEOUS HALF-SPACE
The problem of the scattering of SH-waves by a shallow cylindrical cavity in inhomogeneous half-space is discussed in this paper. Methods of complex function and multi-polar coordinate system are adopted to solve the problem of dynamic stress concentration factor.Based on the conformal mapping technique, the Helmholtz equation with variable coefficients is transferred into its standard form.Besides, the form of scattering wave is also deduced and the dynamic response is calculated and discussed.Numerical results present that the dynamic stress concentration factor is mainly affected by inhomogeneous parameters and the wave number, and it is influenced by the depth of the cavity under the surface as well.
