INVESTIGATION OF DIRECTIVITY PATTERNS OF THE SOUND RADIATED FROM CIRCULAR AND RECTANGULAR PLATES
Two kinds of flat and stepped plates for ultrasonic radiators for the generation of high directional radiation in air are studied.The rectangular plate with free edges has no analytical solution.An approach for calculation of the directivity pattern of the sound radiated rectangular plate with free edges is developed based on the finite element method.It shows that the directivity pattern of the stepped plate radiator is better than that of the flat one.The configuration of the calculated directivity patterns of the radiators is quite similar to that of the tested one.
