The effect of the surface waviness on vibrations of a ball bearing

　　The surface waviness is one of the main factors for vibrations and acoustics of ball bearings.A dynamic model (TVDS model) considering both the time-varying displacement (TVD) excitation and the time-varying contact stiffness excitation caused by the surface waviness on the races of the ball bearing is used to examine the effects of the number and the maximum amplitude of the surface waviness on the contact stiffness between the ball and the races,as well as the vibration characteristics of the ball bearing.Note that the proposed method can provide a new modeling method for vibration analysis of the ball bearing considering the surface waviness on its races.
