Progress of Austempered Ductile Iron (ADI) Production Technology in China
The new progress of ADI production technology is introduced as follows: (1) CADI grinding balls have developed quickly.(2) Heavy-duty truck chassis parts may be a new growth point of ADI output.(3) The application of ADI (CADI) used for the wear-resistant parts have achieved a breakthrough.(4) The establishment of austempered heat treatment center made a significant contribution to the development of ADI,the heat treatment equipment with stable quality and reasonable price become a concern again.(5) The confidence of using ADI gears and crankshafts has been back due to the improvement of metal charge quality and blank castings quality in ductile iron production.(6) ADI production technology has made great progress,but there are many problems need to be solved urgently such as unstable and inconsistent quality.The development direction of ADI was predicted.
