Development and Application of Casting Defect Management and Statistics System
In order to improve theutilization ratio of the casting defects knowledge,makethe quality data managed more normally,and have castingdefect knowledge,quality data and cases in foundries used to their fullest potential on preventing casting defects,the Casting Defect Management and Statistics System (CDMASS) has been developed of which the main functions include defects standard management,quality cases management,quality data management and casting defects statistics.Each casting defect code and name is kept unique in the system.The mechanism has been implemented in the system to establish the close contact between the casting defect knowledge and quality cases and data coming from casting processes.Especially the defect statistics designed depending on the actual requirements in many foundries is practical and convenient.CDMASS has been appliedin a number of domestic foundries and Zhengzhou Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering contributed to eliminating the information island of casting defects,and assisting casting technicians to not onlycreate,share and spread casting defectsknowledge moreefficiently,but alsoanalysis,prevent and handle casting defects more successfully
