Effect of Fiber Shape on Yarn Irregularity
Yarn irregularity is an important property to evaluate the quality of a yarn.In previous research, the hypothesis that fibers were parallel and straight in the yarn was proposed to study the effect of fiber length and linear density on yarn irregularity.Actually,fiber hooks have important effect on irregularity of sliver or yarn.In order to more exactly evaluate yarn irregularity, the method of simulation on fiber random arrangement in the yarn is used to analyze the effect of fiber hooks on yarn irregularity.It can be seen from the result that if all fibers have the identical straightness, hooked shapes, such as leading hook, trailing hook and double hook etc, of fiber have no significant effect on yarn irregularity.Meanwhile, with the increase of fiber straightness, yarn irregularity decreases correspondingly.
