Preliminary Investigation on Hydrosoluble Emulsion Agent for Ramie Fiber Spinning

  The traditional oil used in ramie fiber spinning has many disadvantage such as lack of stability, easy-deteriorating, not easy to degrade and higher costs.In order to overcome these shortcomings, a hydrosoluble emulsion agent for ramie fiber has been developed.This emulsion agent is composed of humectant glycerol, lubricant water soluble silicone oil (copolymer of silicone and polyaldoxyl ether) and surface active agent.In this paper, the hygroscopic properties, electrical resistance, friction performance and flexibility of ramie fibers after oiling with three different water-based emulsion and mineral oil used in factory were investigated.It was proved that oiling with the new hydrosoluble oil influence the degree of water absorption and electrical resistance performance for ramie fibers significantly.The composition of emulsion is 10% water-soluble silicone oil, 70% glycerol, 20% surfactant shows best smoothness, softness, moisture retaining and absorption properties.In addition,its electrical resistance also meets with the requirements of spinning.
